Gangsters’ haul hit in £2m grab The Sun Home ScotlandScottish News: "£2million in dirty cash has been seized from crime kingpins since April, it was revealed last night.
Crimebusters have forced the likes of drug baron Robert 'Birdman' O'Hara and trafficker James Miller to hand over thousands.
And the haul - seized under Proceeds of Crime laws - will now be ploughed back into communities in Scotland blighted by crime.
Last night Solicitor General Frank Mulholland QC said: 'This amount demonstrates the effectiveness of the legislation.
'It's proving to be an invaluable tool in the fight against serious and organised crime.'
O'Hara, 33, of Possilpark, Glasgow - who's serving life for murder - had to give up more than £130,000, while Miller, of Renfrew, parted with £180,000.
More than £20million has been pumped into the Cashback for Communities scheme, to help young Scots, since 2003.
Last night Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said: 'It'll have a significant benefit in Scotland's communities.'"
