Salinas man sentenced in 2006 officer-involved shooting | thecalifornian.com | The Salinas Californian: "Danny Franco, 25, pleaded no contest in November to charges of attempted murder, assault with a firearm on a peace officer and evading a peace officer in the Sept. 16, 2006, officer-involved shooting that left Ivan Leon, 21, a Norteño gang member, fatally shot on Trinity Way in Salinas.

Franco also admitted to enhancements including committing the crime for the benefit of a criminal street gang and having a prior strike from a previous conviction."
