Winnipeg street gang member deported - Worldnews.com: "A member of Winnipeg's African Mafia street gang has been deported by the Canada Border Services Agency, the federal government reported Wednesday" Canada deported to Sierra Leone the reputed leader of a street gang called the "African Mafia," Public Security Minister Vic Toews announced Wednesday.

Between 2004 and 2008, Mohamed Mansaray was convicted 22 times of charges including assault and robbery, Toews said in a statement.
"I am pleased this serious convicted criminal will no longer pose a threat to the safety of Canadians and our communities. We do not tolerate those who come to this country and commit serious crimes," he said.
Toews said Mansaray, who had been granted refugee status and lived in Winnipeg, was flown back to Sierra Leone on January 10, escorted by Canadian border services agents.
